Robert A. Gance, Au.D., F.A.A.A. Director of Audiology Dr. Gance graduated with a Master of Arts Degree in Audiology from Western Michigan University in 1971. He received his Clinical Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.) from the School of Audiology at Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and is licensed in Pennsylvania. Dr. Gance has been the Director of Audiology at Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. since 1985. He has a strong interest in fitting advanced technology hearing aids. He has personally worn hearing aids for over 30 years. Dr. Gance is a fellow member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology.

Leslie J. Sonday, M.S., F.A.A.A. Audiologist Ms. Sonday graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Audiology from The Pennsylvania State University in 1992. She received the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and is licensed in Pennsylvania. Ms. Sonday joined Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. in 1999. She is dedicated to providing the most advanced methods of vestibular testing and rehabilitation, as well as fitting advanced technology hearing aids. Ms. Sonday is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology.

Francis 'Scott' Caruano, M.S., F.A.A.A. Audiologist Mr. Caruano graduated with a Master of Science Degree in Audiology from Bloomsburg University in 2001. He received the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association, and is licensed in Pennsylvania. Mr. Carauno joined Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. in 2001. He is a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the Pennsylvania Academy of Audiology.

Gianfranco Toso, M.D., D.D.S. Dr. Toso graduated from the University of Bologna Medical School, Italy in 1956. He completed his Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Residency at the Newark Eye & Ear Infirmary, New Jersey in 1963 and started his practice in Reading, Pennsylvania in 1964. Dr. Toso has been the leader in the development and advancement of ear surgery. In 1986 he started The Reading Hospital & Medical Center Cochlear Implant program with Elca Swigart, Ph.D., becoming the first surgeon in Eastern Pennsylvania to perform a cochlear implantation. Dr. Toso is Board Certified and his practice encompasses all aspects of Otorhinolaryngology. He specializes in ear surgery, and has developed advanced techniques for reconstruction of the ear canal and elimination of the mastoid cavity after ear surgery. He served as Section Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology, The Reading Hospital and Medical Center until 1997.
Hector Seda, M.D. Dr. Seda graduated from the Jefferson Medical College, Philadelphia in 1964. He completed his Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Residency at the University of Oklahoma in 1969. From 1969 to 1971 he served as a Major in the U.S. Medical Corps, where he became the Chief of Otolaryngology at the Irwin Army Hospital. He was Associate Professor, Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Oklahoma School of Medicine from 1969-1971. In 1971 he joined Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. In 1972 Dr. Seda began serving as Clinical Instructor with the Department of Otorhinolaryngology at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Seda is Board Certified and his practice encompasses all medical aspects of Otorhinolaryngology. He has a particular interest in Vestibular Disorders (disorders involving balance/equilibrium). He served as the Section Chairman of the Department of Otolaryngology, The Reading Hospital and Medical Center from 1997 through 2003.
Winifred Kao, M.D. Dr. Kao graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey-Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in 1987. She completed her Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery Residency at the Temple University Hospital, Philadelphia 1992. In 1992 Dr. Kao joined Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. Dr. Kao is Board Certified and her practice encompasses all aspects of Otorhinolaryngology. She has particular expertise in the area of endoscopic sinus surgery, the most advanced form of sinus surgery. She is also actively involved in the Cochlear Implant program at The Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Joseph Watson, D.O. Dr. Watson graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, School of Osteopathic Medicine in 1998. He completed his Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck, and Facial Plastic Surgery Residency at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. He began service in 2004 as a clinical instructor in the Department of Otolaryngology of Thomas Jefferson University. Dr. Watson joined Berks E.N.T. Surgical Associates, Inc. in July of 2005. He is Board Certified in Otolaryngology as well as Facial Plastic Surgery, and his practice encompasses all aspects of Otorhinolaryngology. His interests include sinus and allergy, children’s ENT, disorders of the voice and swallowing, and facial cosmetic surgery.
